Kaputaj Beach

The world-famous Kaputaş Beach, which has been climbing up and down 186 steps for many years... With its turquoise color, it is so photographic that a square from this beach is definitely used in promotions about Turkey. In recent years, the number of steps has been reduced by almost half, and a daily facility has been established, so the number of visitors has increased even more.

The sea owes its turquoise color to the almost white pebbles covering the beach. The combination of the spring water flowing from the mountains with the sea from underground is the reason why the sea is cool.

On the beach, a facility of the municipality serves as a beach. It is possible to rent umbrellas and sunbeds and get cafe service from here. (umbrellas 10 TL, sunbeds 10 TL.) In the mornings, both the sea and the beach environment are calmer. The sea deepens immediately and there are generally light, pleasant waves.

Coming to the beach, which is 7 km from Kalkan and 20 km from Kas, with your own car, especially in summer, can create stress in terms of parking. The road to the beach turns into a long car park. Maybe it's best to come from Kaş bus station by minibuses or taxis that regularly depart every 20 minutes in summer. Taxi, 2019 price is 110 TL.

It is also possible to come to the beach by private boat tours departing from Kaş harbor. When you come with these tours, you both take a long swimming break in Kaputaş and visit the blue cave.

Blue Cave

The Blue Cave, which is 1 km away from Kaputaş Beach, can only be reached from the sea. The length of the cave is 50 meters and its width is 40 meters. Once home to Mediterranean monk seals, the cave takes its name from the bright blue color created by the sunlight reflecting under the sea. Some boat tours departing from Kalkan also stop by the Blue Cave.
