Marriage Guide in Turkey
How exciting! Which part of you is the Shield?
Which part of the Mediterranean in Turkey best fits your wedding day vision? Turkey has sights, architecture and cuisine. Which is your choice? A rustic wedding in the hills or a barefoot walk on the beaches of Kalkan beaches? And if cuisine is paramount, do you prefer the wine around our kivillas in Kalkan or the fresh seafood of Kas?
Get married in Kaş
If old-world architecture, landmarks, and seafood are your preference, consider having your wedding here. Dalaman Airport and Antalya Airport are the region's international hubs, making it extremely accessible to family and friends traveling to Kas from abroad.
Kas is just a short journey from the coast and miles of pristine beach. But your guests will find more than enough to do in and around the city. What trip would be complete without scuba diving in the blue waters without visiting the island of Meis in Kaş?
Get married in Kalkan
For a total escape, choose one of our Kalkan villas and immerse yourself in one of Turkey's most unspoilt areas. Although this is one of the most popular areas of Kas, it retains its charm and personality when combined with some of the best locally sourced food and drink, including the famous Lycian wine.
Kalkan is the most suitable place for a couple who want to get away from it all and have a comfortable wedding. If you're after a big, lively event, the Shield can provide that too.
Get married in Fethiye
A wedding here guarantees a day to remember. You can choose the modern villas of the 21st century or you can choose the restored old mansions. Prominent in its architecture and works of art, Turkey is the intersection of Asia and Europe. Fethiye has benefited from this intersection and carries the traces of many cultures.
While making it easy for guests to travel from abroad for the wedding, it has convenient connections to Dalaman Airport as well as Antalya Airport.
How many guests?
There is a Kalkan villa rental that is the perfect size for any wedding party. Some of our larger villas in the area can accommodate 20 or more people, making it easy to organize an after-party party. Most have air-conditioned rooms and all have swimming pools.
If you envision your wedding as a smaller event, many more villas are usually available, including scenic terraces for photos.
Love's food: food at a Turkey wedding
A classic Turkish wedding menu is multicultural, with regional variations in the choice of meats and appetizers. Traditionally, Turkey's eastern and central regions are known for their meat dishes, while the west attracts fish and vegetable lovers.
The variety of dishes for dinner varies. It is traditionally thought that many dishes are necessary at a Turkey wedding, but this is not always the case. A good wedding planner will tailor the food and portion sizes to your wishes.
It is also important to determine how guests will receive their meals. For a traditional approach, place cards and seating are arranged keeping in mind how many guests will be at each table and how many staff members are available to serve. For a more contemporary and casual approach, buffet-style entrees, roasted vegetables and savory side dishes work.
Consider the beginnings. Salty foods such as squid, mushrooms and olives are traditional. Cocktails often welcome guests with snacks. Consider creating a signature cocktail, such as a rich truffle with red wine, or a luxurious wine and cheese grater.
Traditionally, a table of sweet treats is arranged with a selection of cakes and most commonly cookies. In some ceremonies, cookies are such an integral part of the meal that a conga-style dance leads guests around the reception area to the hospitality table.
